An Old Voice

Hi, I am Stuart ‘Smudge’ Smith and I am a kidney transplant patient, at a different stage of my life. Just your typical working class bloke, who sees the fun side of life, after going through so much. I still have a lot of fun with my voices and impressions, but its really just a fun hobby now, which helps me to stay creative and help with my mental health. I also use my lived experience to help other patients, as well as with mental health.
The Gift of Life
The Gift of Life is all about my kidney transplant and dedicated to my donor. My transplant will be 30 on December 5th.
The Quiet Majority
As politics becomes framed as Left v Right, The Quiet Majority tried to find that middle ground again. To be honest, it didn’t really gain much traction, so on hold for now. It has long been my view that most people are fair and are middle of the road politically in this country, with some left and some right. I guess I was just worried about the growing divide in this country. Living in social housing, you see your fair share of issues and stigma over the years. So, it was really about trying to draw on that and debate. Sadly there was little interest, but hey, we can only try.
My views come from my own lived experience having been through a lot in my life. You see firsthand how people treat you, you see politics up close and how decisions affect you. Whether as a kidney patient, my transplant and picking myself up after being homeless. Or, as a social tenant working in many manual jobs over 30 years.
